An AI listing writer for property sellers

Context

Somebody selling a flat writes the listing by hand: they compose the description, find the words for every room, work out how to invite a viewing, and with the next offer they start from a blank page. Photos of a dark room stay the way they came out of the phone. Both decide whether anyone clicks the advert at all. The project was built at the end of 2022, as the AI models capable of writing such text appeared.

What I built

Listing

• The seller uploads the photos of the flat and gives the address, and the system writes the finished advert text: it describes the layout and fittings visible in the photos and the neighbourhood that follows from the address.
• The text is ready to paste straight into the listing, in the form property portals use.

Photos

• Dark phone shots come back brightened, with corrected colours, in a version that can go into a listing without apologising to the client.
• The seller needs no photographer and no photo editor, just the photos taken on a phone.

• To a photo of an empty room the system adds a sample arrangement: furniture, lighting, accessories. The viewer sees a flat somebody could live in, not bare walls.
• The effect that usually takes a stylist and furniture brought in for a shoot comes from the same phone photo.

Outcome

The listing is made from what the seller has to hand: the photos on their phone and the address. Writing the description and fixing the photos stops being a separate job at the end of the day, and the offer can go online the same day, with photos that invite a click and an interior the viewer can picture themselves in.
